Term 2

I hope you’ve all had a peaceful break with your children over the holidays. It sure feels like Autumn and is much more chilly in the mornings now May has rolled around! Please make sure your child always has a jacket at school as they get outside for a run around most days. Gumboots and slippers are a great option on rainy days as we will be taking shoes off to keep the floors as dry and clean as possible throughout the winter terms.

CONTACTS
You can keep up to date with what’s going on
in Room 7 in several ways.
You can keep in touch with us all via our
classroom blog:
room7teammagma.blogspot.co.nz

and through the school website:
http://www.mtpleasant.school.nz/

You can also contact me at my work email
address louise@mtpleasant.school.nz.

TOPIC
The first 3 weeks of term will focus around
the joy of books with Book Week being in
week 3. We will be making podcasts, reading,
designing covers and generally be exploring
books and their authors.
Please send along an empty box (cereal/ pasta/
chocolate etc.) for your child to turn into their
favourite book.

Once book week is over we will start to
explore how weather effects our lives- timely
with all the rain we’ve been having lately

WHAT’S GOING ON?
Kapa Haka has started today and will be on
Mondays from 12-1pm
The Baking Club is on Thursday at lunchtimes.
Music lessons continue to be at various times
throughout the day. Please remind your child
when theirs is.
The Environment group meet a couple of
times a week and have gardening projects
around the school. It is great to see so many
children from Room 7 are part of this.

Oral Language Term 2

The house groups have changed to different days... so make sure you check!
